All stated thickness measurements (3mm / 5mm / 8mm) are nominal sizes. As the product is made of foam material, slight variation may occur during manufacturing. Compression during packing, shipment, and measurement may also result in minor thickness differences.

Such variance is within normal production tolerance and is not considered a defect or wrong item.
